Lift New Forest proudly supported Young Minds’ nationwide #HelloYellow campaign, coming together as a school community to highlight the importance of mental health and emotional wellbeing among young people.
On Friday 10th October, pupils and staff were encouraged to add a touch of yellow to their usual school attire - from bright socks and ribbons to sunny badges and t-shirts - to show their solidarity and raise money for Young Minds, a leading UK charity dedicated to supporting children and young people’s mental health.
Students across the school shared their thoughts on why Hello Yellow matters:
“It is important to make people more aware of mental health and how people should not be ashamed of any struggles they might have.” – Libby
“Emotion is a big part of a child's life and should never be overlooked!” – Lizzie
“It is good because young people's mental health is so important but loads of people overlook it.” – Katy
“You don’t have to control your thoughts – you just have to stop letting them control you.” – Ashlee
“It is important to be kind to everyone you meet; you never know what they are going through – kindness goes a long way.” – India
