Lift New Forest Students Experience an Unforgettable Paris Adventure
March 2, 2026

Our recent trip to Paris was an incredible opportunity for Lift New Forest students to bring their learning to life, combining language, culture, and history in a truly memorable way.

The journey began with a moving visit to a First World War memorial and battlefield. Students had the chance to walk through a preserved trench, offering a powerful insight into the realities of life during the war and deepening their understanding of this important period in history.

Arriving in Paris, students explored some of the city’s most famous landmarks. A highlight for many was the visit to the stunning Château de Versailles, where they toured the grand state rooms, royal apartments, and expansive gardens, gaining a sense of the scale and splendour of French royal life.

The group also visited the Stade de France and the Musée d’Orsay, experiencing both contemporary and classical aspects of French culture. A trip to a traditional French market allowed students to sample local cuisine and practise their French in real-life situations — a fantastic way to build confidence and independence.

Although our planned boat cruise on the River Seine was unable to go ahead due to river conditions, students enjoyed an early visit to the top of the Eiffel Tower instead. The spectacular views across Paris made this an unforgettable moment.

Further highlights included visits to the Basilique du Sacré-Cœur in Montmartre, Place de la Concorde, and the Louvre courtyard, where students saw the iconic glass pyramid up close.

We are incredibly proud of how our students represented Lift New Forest throughout the trip. Their enthusiasm, curiosity, and willingness to embrace new experiences made this visit are sounding success.
