Staff and students from the University of Southampton recentlyvisited a group of Year 7 and 8 students and delivered aworkshop exploring the wide range of subjects available to studyat university, and how they link to various career paths.
Students had a set of career cards to look at that covered a widerange of different career paths, they then used the coursebooklets and asked questions to look at what subjects wereoffered at university which would match the career path. Theyalso explored the clubs, societies and activities on offer to themas part of their enrichment.
The session was engaging and there were lots of discussionsaround the different types of subjects on offer as well as theenrichment opportunities available. Several students wereamazed at the sheer number and range of clubs and societiesthat you can join and found out that there really is something foreveryone.
