On Wednesday 29th April the top set mathematicians in Year 7 and Year 8 took part in the Junior Maths challenge. In Year 7 three students managed to achieve a Bronze award and the top scorer in Year 7 was Harriet who managed to achieve a Silver award. In Year 8 nine students managed to achieve a Bronze award, four achieved Silver Awards and two students achieved a Gold! Lois was the top scorer for Lift New Forest and her score gained her an entry through to the next round, the Junior Kangaroo. Only the top mathematicians in the country are selected to go through to the next round and we wish Lois the best of luck.
It is an achievement for all of the students to have been entered into the maths challenge and a huge well done to all who participated. If you fancy yourself a mathematician feel free to have a go at the last three questions.
